Thanks to a workshop that I (and about eight other wonderful artists) took on my birthday weekend with Rosemary Leach, I'm happily taking slow but steady steps to set myself "back on track".

This painting and nearly a hundred other art objects, goods and services were auctioned off on the evening of 11 April 2015, at a fantastic community event at the Almonte Old Town Hall, to raise money for the Almonte Skatepark Project. The project has raised about $110,000 to date (in money and in-kind donations, not including last night's event) and needs another $40,000 to build the first third of the skatepark. The Mayor was nearly the new owner of this painting, but was out bid!
I was successful in my election to Mississippi Mills Council late in October 2014. I am now a Councillor, Almonte ward. I also sold my house in October to move into a house that I'm turning into a duplex (still working on that!)
There hasn't been any time to paint or blog, but by summer 2015 that will change.

I donated Lucky Day Bluebird to Almonte's the Hub and Rebound auction for the 2nd Annual Glitz Gala, 27 September 2014, which is an incredible local success. The painting was bid on and bought and the proceeds went to assist The Hub Hospice Palliative Care and the Hub's Youth Camps Subsidy. I'm so glad to have helped raise funds and awareness for these two excellent initiatives.
The Blue Sheep in the Family was donated to the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum (MVTM) Almonte, as the grand prize for the Mississippi Lamb Race that happened at the 19th annual Fibrefest, in September 2014. Proceeds from tickets sales for the Lamb Race went to the Museum - to help with programming and operational costs. The MVTM is one of my most favourite places in the world and, again, I'm really pleased to help make it as successful as possible.
