Work in progress (finally!)

Thanks to a workshop that I (and about eight other wonderful artists) took on my birthday weekend with Rosemary Leach, I'm happily taking slow but steady steps to set myself "back on track".

The Almonte Skatepark project continues to inspire community support (I hope!)

This painting and nearly a hundred other art objects, goods and services were auctioned off on the evening of 11 April 2015, at a fantastic community event at the Almonte Old Town Hall, to raise money for the Almonte Skatepark Project. The project has raised about $110,000 to date (in money and in-kind donations, not including last night's event) and needs another $40,000 to build the first third of the skatepark. You can learn more about the plan and make an online donation here: www.almonteskatepark.ca

The Mayor was nearly the new owner of this painting, but was out bid!

Why the hiatus? Don't I paint anymore!?

I was successful in my election to Mississippi Mills Council late in October 2014. I am now a Councillor, Almonte ward. I also sold my house in October to move into a house that I'm turning into a duplex (still working on that!)

There hasn't been any time to paint or blog, but by summer 2015 that will change.
